Who We Are
MGI’s founder, Mike Gascoyne, is one of the most renowned technicians in Formula One and has carved out an illustrious career at the pinnacle of international motorsport for over two decades. Having studied for a Ph.D. in fluid dynamics at Cambridge University throughout the 1980s, Mike’s passion for motorsport took him into the world of Formula One for the first time in 1989 when he joined the McLaren team. Since 1989 Mike has continued working at varying teams and currently holds the position of Group Chief Technical Officer, with overall technical responsibility for all Caterham Group activities. Mike founded MGI in 2001 which he has actively and successfully run in unison with his other high level jobs.
Paul Craig started life in the vehicle distribution industry as a National Project Manager. He then joined Paul Stoddart in 1992 as Logistics Director of European Aviation Air Charter Limited and board director for European Formula Racing which ran the F3000 Team and Minardi F1 UK operation. In addition to these series, Paul has also run a two seater operation. Since 2004, Paul has partnered Mike at MGI and was one of the team of four who succeeded in getting a Formula One car to the grid for the Caterham F1 Team on entry to the series.
Head of Marketing & Communications
Originally from Germany Silvia started working with Toyota Motorsport after finishing her Degree in Sports Management. Involved in the Marketing side of the Toyota F1 Team she work with high profile accounts advising and supporting the marketing and communication activation of their sponsorship with the team. From 2009 onwards she set up the Marketing and Communications team of the now called Caterham F1 Team in her role as Head of Marketing and Communications from scratch before joining the team at MGI. Silvia speaks several languages and is happy to help you engaging with Mike and the team.
Brian has been sailing two and three-hulled high end racing yachts for twenty years achieving an impressive 27 world sailing records, setting him apart from every professional world class sailor on the grand prix circuit. He is one of Britain’s most talented and popular ocean sailors and is the only person to have sailed four times non-stop around the globe. In 2012 Brian was the only non-French crew member aboard the record- breaking maxi trimaran “Banque Populaire V” lifting the Jules Verne Trophy for the fastest ever non-stop lap of the planet.
